You’re invited to stop by the Grange to share good cheer with your friends and neighbors, and enjoy hot chocolate, cider, holiday treats, live music and help us decorate the Grange tree. And participate in “CookieFest” — If you feel like baking, please make two dozen or so cookies.  Sample others, and take a few home with you.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, we encourage you to bring a donation for the Roe Jan Food Pantry, the Taconic Hills School Supply Closet (donate personal hygiene products and athletic/sweat pants in all sizes), or Taconic Hills Dollars for Scholars. This event is Free.

Nunsense - The Musical

The Two of Us Productions presents Nunsense - The Musical. The musical comedy follows five of the Little Sisters of Hoboken who, after returning from bingo, learn that their cook, Sister Julia, accidentally killed 52 convent residents with her tainted vichyssoise.  To raise funds for the burials, Mother Superior is inspired to start a greeting card company which is enormously successful. But after she frivolously buys a giant-screen TV and streaming subscriptions for the convent, she finds herself short of money for the last four burials. To raise money to bury the final four, they decide to stage a variety show in the Mount Saint Helen's School auditorium. Starring Kitt Lapaix, Constance Lopez, Karissa Payson, Lauren Letellier, and Nicole Molinski.

Grange Classic Film series presents "Places in the Heart", a 1984 drama written and directed by Robert Benton, starring Sally Field.

When her husband is killed in an accident, Edna Spalding (Field) finds herself alone and broke on her small Texas farm in the midst of the Great Depression. She must endure storms, harsh labor, and other trials to save the farm from foreclosure and protect her family. See the trailer here.

The film won the Academy Awards for Best Actress (Field) and for Best Screenplay (Benton). Classic Film Series organizer, Lenny Barham, will provide commentary and insights. Stay after the movie for dinner: soup, salad, bread and dessert. Movie admission is by donation. Dinner is $10.

It will be an opportunity to share ideas with our County Grange, find out more about what the Grange does on the State and National levels, and to discover and participate in our wider Grange community. Legislative proposals focused on topics related to rural and agricultural lifestyles and preservation of farms and farmland will be discussed. Lunch is provided and a $5 donation is suggested.

Audrey Ludemann (née Noyes), Harry Hussey, Mark Lebow & Greg Smith bring their range of acoustic styles from traditional to “psychedelic folk” to the Grange. Noyes & the Boyes evolved from a musicians’ “collective” that has been performing and recording in Southwest Connecticut since 1971, with periodic performances at Copake Grange during the past four years.
